How to Prepare Your Ceremonial Cacao at Home

Ready to create a soothing cacao ritual? Here’s how to prepare your cacao with care and intention:

Dosage:

  • Daily Dose: 1 ounce of cacao

  • Ceremonial Dose: 1.5 ounces of cacao

I exclusively use Keith’s ceremonial cacao for its quality and energy.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces hot water

  • 2 ounces nut milk (or double the hot water if you prefer)

  • 1 teaspoon sweetener (maple syrup, brown sugar, or honey)

  • A pinch of Himalayan pink salt

  • Optional spices: cinnamon, cardamom, cayenne, ginger

Instructions:

  1. Shave the Cacao: Use a food processor, cheese grater, or knife to finely shave the Keith’s cacao bar into small pieces

  2. Measure: Use a kitchen scale to measure the appropriate amount of cacao for your desired dose.

  3. Heat Water: Heat 2 ounces of water per serving (4 ounces if not using nut milk) until just below boiling.

  4. Warm Nut Milk: If using nut milk, gently warm 2 ounces per serving.

  5. Mix: Add the hot water to the cacao in your cup, along with a pinch of Himalayan pink salt and sweetener if desired. Let it sit for 15 seconds.

  6. Blend: Use a hand frother, blender, or whisk to blend until smooth and frothy.

  7. Combine: Stir in the warmed nut milk and any additional spices to taste.

  8. Enjoy: Sip with intention and let the magic of cacao nourish your body and soul.
